How Changing Your Inner Dialogue Can Shift Everything

inner dialogue reflected through calming crystals and intentional self reflection

How powerful our inner dialogue really is.

I want to share something that I just moved through, because it’s such a perfect example of how powerful our inner dialogue really is.

As I’ve been shifting things in my business, I decided it was time to redo my website. A new platform, new layout, new blog!!!!

And to be honest, your girl is not the best with tech and I had no idea what I was doing 🫠🫠🫠

When “I Don’t Know How” Becomes the Loop

For the first few days, the same thought kept looping in my head:

“I don’t know how to do this and I’m really f**king frustrated.”

And the more I said it, the more stuck I felt. I was frustrated, overwhelmed, second-guessing myself and everything felt harder than it needed to be.

Then it hit me.

Haley, this is literally the work you teach.

The Way You Speak to Yourself Shapes What’s Possible

The way we speak to ourselves matters.

The words we say to ourselves become our beliefs. The beliefs we repeat become our reality

And I was reinforcing the exact belief that was keeping me stuck.

So I made a conscious decision to change my inner dialogue.

Rewriting the Inner Dialogue in Real Time

Instead of saying “I don’t know how to do this,” I started saying:

“I am capable and I will figure this out.”

And:

“Even though this is new and challenging, I trust that I have all of the resources I need to make this happen.”

Nothing external changed overnight.
The platform didn’t suddenly become easier.

But I changed.

I changed my words, which changed my beliefs, which changed my reality.

And within a few days, my website was up and running. It was still challenging, but I trusted and believed that I would figure it out.

Progress Over Perfection

Is it perfect? No.
Is it finished? Not completely…It will most likely evolve over time which I’m really excited about.

But it’s live. It’s functional. It works. And I’m really proud of it and proud of myself for completing something challenging (this is expansion, this is building capacity).

And another shift I’ve made over time is that no longer let perfectionism or procrastination stop me anymore. My clients know this well: done is better than perfect, and movement (even 1%) is better than staying stuck and actually build confidence.

This Is the Work We Do Inside The Embodied Shift Method

This is the kind of work we do inside The Embodied Shift Method.

We don’t force positivity or bypass hard moments. We acknowledge them so that they can move through us without getting stuck in our bodies while also learning how to:

  • Catch the beliefs running in the background that don’t serve us
  • Soften the nervous system and create space
  • Consciously choose a different way forward that is in alignment

Because when you start changing the way you speak to yourself, your identity shifts.

When Identity Shifts, Everything Else Follows

You stop seeing yourself as someone who gets stuck and start seeing yourself as someone who figures things out.

You trust yourself more.
You take action even when things feel uncomfortable.
And suddenly, possibilities open up that once felt out of reach.

If You’re Standing at the Edge of Something New

If you’ve been standing at the edge of something new and telling yourself “I don’t know how” or “I’m not ready yet,” I just want you to know this:

You don’t need to have it all figured out.

You just need to believe that you’re capable of figuring it out as you go.

And if you’re craving support in making those internal shifts in a grounded, sustainable way, The Embodied Shift Method is where we do that work together.

A Gentle Place to Begin

If there’s one thing I hope you take from this, it’s this:

You don’t need more pressure and you don’t need to try harder.

Often, the shift begins with noticing the words you’re using with yourself — especially in moments of frustration or uncertainty — and choosing something that creates a little more space instead of more tension.

That’s where change becomes sustainable.

And if you want support in practicing this in a way that honors your nervous system, The Embodied Shift Method is where we slow this work down and build it together, step by step.

You’re allowed to move forward without having it all figured out.
You’re allowed to trust yourself as you learn.
And you’re allowed to take the next step in a way that feels supportive, not forceful.

This isn’t about getting it right.
It’s about staying with yourself as you grow.

To your next shift,
Haley
